Veterans Expeditions Overland is a hub project within the ALIVE Programme and has a wonderful team of volunteers
with a huge array of mechanical skills from their service in the military headed by our Chief Mechanic and Trustee,
Stuart Ward who is a former ASM from the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers.
This project started in 2017 and is ongoing with the purpose of building and maintaining our fleet of overland
expedition vehicles. We are always looking to improve and add to our fleet of vehicles and to create the best camp
setup we can to help give veterans the best experience on our overland expeditions.
Our fleet currently consists of a Land Rover Defender which is our mechanics vehicle and three Land Rover
Discovery’s which are our passenger vehicles. Two new vehicles are currently being built with the first being the
Land Roamer (Link to Land Roamer Project) which is a Land Rover 130 camper and our mobile office for in the field.
The second the Scran Roamer (Link to Scran Roamer Project) which is a Land Rover Defender 130 and will be a
purpose-built kitchen and support vehicle and will complete our fleet for the time being.
Our vehicles are used to undertake overland expeditions for those who suffer and who are on the ALIVE Programme.
When a veteran attends our ALIVE Centre it is hard to miss the vehicles and is the first project we introduce veterans
to and as said previously this is a hub project with other projects branching from it but all interlinked.
